Make room for the EVO 4G LTE

htc evo 3d vs htc evo 4g lte

So Sprint finally discontinued the sale of the HTC EVO 3D online.  The only remaining ones are the leftovers at their retail stores.   This smartphone was the first 3D phone available for Sprint users.  This might come as a shock for some since the phone debuted not even a year ago.  But it only makes sense to stop the production of EVO 3D since the long awaited EVO 4G LTE is on its way to the market.  Good news is Fastlanewireless will have the EVO 3D for sale without having to renew or sign up for a new contract on the website while supplies last.  Why lock yourself into a 2 year contract or pay the full retail price for the phone?  Check out the phone at:

Samsung Epic 4G SPH-D700 – Review

Taking a good look at all the phones in the Samsung Galaxy S Series, the Epic 4G SPH-D700 for Sprint is the most desirable for power users. Like all the Galaxy S Phones, the Epic 4G has a super AMOLED Display, an impressive QWERTY Keyboard, and a 1GHz Hummingbird Cortex A8 processor, also equipped with a 5.0-megapixel camera with an LED Flash. If that doesn’t convince you then the Android 2.3 Software that runs the phone should do it. It makes the phone User-Friendly, easy to navigate, also making thousands of Apps available at a press of a button. Aside from all of this the Epic 4G is capable of becoming a Wi-Fi Hot Spot, thus making it the best yet the most useful phone one can purchase.

Specifications

  • Carrier:      Sprint
  • Color:         Black
  • Platform:   Android 2.3, Gingerbread OS
  • Screen:      Display Size 4.0″

Blackberry 9330 – Review

blackberry 9330 curve 3g

Today I am reviewing the Blackberry 9330 for Verizon Wireless. Aesthetically the 9330 roughly sticks to the classic Blackberry format in shape, size and layout. The easy access QWERTY keyboard and responsive optical trackpad Blackberry users love are still there. This model introduces 3G and GPS to the Blackberry line of smartphones.  This model also sports Blackberry OS 5 and can be upgraded to OS6.  (more…)

Sprint Is Finally Getting the Samsung Galaxy Nexus!!!

Fast Lane Wireless

Sprint Samsung Galaxy Nexus LTE

Rejoice Sprint users!!!… Sprint has announced the arrival of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus LTE Android
smartphone for their network. After months of its initial release on other carriers such as Verizon
Wireless, Sprint will have the phone on sale April 22, 2012.  Packed with Android 4.0 aka Ice Cream
Sandwich, this device is surely going to raise some eyebrows with Sprint users.  Here are some features
on this device: 4.65-inch display, 5-megapixel camera, and 1.2GHz dual-core processor.  Also, for
all of you disappointed with Verizon’s version not having Google Wallet, Sprint’s Nexus will not just
allow Google Wallet but also up to a $50 credit for just using it.  You get a $10 credit the first week you
activate the Google Wallet account and another $40 credit 3 weeks later. Maybe this is for making
customers wait a while for the phone to be released on Sprint. Regardless, that is a free $50 credit to
spend on whatever you want.

The only drawback is the Sprint 4G LTE coverage is going to be limited initially. But that occurred with
all the other carriers when they first offered 4G LTE service. Hopefully, Sprint will expand as quickly as
possible to compete with the other major carriers that also offer 4G LTE service. But apart from that,
Sprint will finally have one of the hottest Android smartphones in their lineup.

So who is going to upgrade or switch over to Sprint for this super device?

Beware!!! Verizon Wireless No Longer Activates Alltel Wireless Devices

Fast Lane Wireless

alltel-logo verizon
So after acquiring Alltel Wireless in 2008, Verizon Wireless has decided to stop activating Alltel devices on the Verizon Wireless network as of January 16, 2012.  This includes the Alltel Legacy devices such as cell phones and air cards that were previously activated on Verizon Wireless.  Current customers with Alltel devices that are already on the Verizon Wireless network need not to worry.  This only affects the devices that aren’t on the Verizon network.
Here is the statement released by Verizon Wireless regarding this issue:
Effective today, legacy Alltel devices can no longer be activated on our network. So, if you had an Alltel device sitting in a drawer or glove compartment and wanted to activate it today, you would not be able to. Today’s change does not affect legacy Alltel devices that are currently activated and on our network.

It has been three years since Verizon Wireless purchased Alltel and to give customers the best experience on our network, we are encouraging them to move to current devices. Customers who are told they cannot activate an older Alltel device are able to take advantage of any current promotions, including free devices as offered on our Web site.
I wonder how many people this will affect after 3 years…
